PDF tasks are easier when you break them into a few checks: keep the source files, choose the operation that matches the job, and open the exported document before sharing it. FORMSHALA's browser-based toolkit covers common page and conversion tasks without requiring a desktop editor for every small change.

Combine files into one document

Use Merge PDF when several PDFs should become one. Add the files in the order you want them to appear, confirm the sequence, and create the combined document. The result is useful for assembling forms or supporting documents, but it is still your responsibility to confirm that every page belongs in the final copy.

For images that need to become a document, use an image-to-PDF tool instead. Select the images in the intended order and check page orientation and dimensions in the output.

Extract, remove, rotate, or reorder pages

When only part of a document is needed, enter page numbers or ranges carefully. Extract pages to create a smaller selection, or delete unwanted pages to keep the rest. Rotation and reordering are useful for scans that arrived sideways or out of sequence.

Count pages from the PDF viewer and double-check the exported file. A page range such as '1-3, 5' should be checked against the original before you send the new document to anyone.

Understand what PDF compression can do

FORMSHALA's PDF compression tool re-saves the document using PDF object streams and reports the before-and-after file sizes. This can reduce structural overhead in some files, but it does not promise to recompress every embedded photo or make every PDF smaller.

If the source is already optimised, the output may be close to the original size or even fail to improve it. The tool reports the result so you can decide whether it meets an upload limit. For a large scan, reducing image resolution can help, but that is a separate trade-off and may make small text harder to read.

Convert PDF pages to images

PDF-to-image conversion renders pages as image files. Choose the output format, scale, and quality with the destination in mind. A higher scale can preserve more detail for printing, while a lower scale or compressed JPG can be more practical for sharing online.

Remember that converting pages to images changes the document into pictures: text may no longer be selectable or searchable, and the files can become larger if rendered at high resolution. If you need searchable text, use a workflow that includes optical character recognition rather than assuming an image export will retain it.

A final document check

Before sending an edited PDF, open it in a viewer and check the first page, last page, page count, rotation, text, and any signatures or form fields that matter to your task. Re-saving a document can affect features beyond visible page content, so retain the original and compare the result when the source is important.

These tools process selected files in the browser. Download the finished file to a folder you control, use a clear filename, and follow the receiving organisation's instructions for file size and format.
